WristNav is a Wear OS application for offline map navigation and GPS activity tracking. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, how it is shared, and your rights.
WristNav may collect and process the following data on your device:
WristNav may access health-related data from your Wear OS watch when you use activity recording features. This includes heart rate measured by the watch's heart-rate sensor and step count provided by the watch's activity sensors or supported health-data services.
How health data is collected: Health data is collected when you use WristNav's activity-recording features and grant the required permissions. Heart rate is obtained from the watch's heart-rate sensor and step information is obtained from supported activity data sources.
How health data is used: Heart rate and step-count data are used to provide live activity statistics and to record activity information. Where available, this information is included in the GPX file generated by WristNav.
How health data is stored: WristNav stores the recorded activity information locally on your device as part of the activity and GPX data. WristNav does not operate its own server for storing your health data.
How health data is shared: Health data may leave the device only when you explicitly use a feature that transfers your activity data to another service. WristNav supports transferring recorded activity data to Health Connect and Intervals.icu.
WristNav does not sell health data and does not use health data for advertising, advertising profiling, or unrelated purposes.
WristNav processes your data to provide offline navigation and activity-recording features.
WristNav provides optional integration with Health Connect. If you grant the required permissions and choose to use this integration, WristNav can send supported activity and health information from your recorded activities to Health Connect.
The information transferred may include data such as exercise/activity information, heart rate, steps, distance, elevation, duration and other supported information contained in the recorded activity.
Health Connect is a platform provided by Google. Data stored in Health Connect is subject to Google's Health Connect functionality, permissions and privacy practices. WristNav does not receive or sell your Health Connect data for advertising purposes.
WristNav offers optional integration with Intervals.icu. If you choose to connect your Intervals.icu account and upload an activity, WristNav uploads the recorded GPX file to Intervals.icu.
The uploaded GPX file may contain all data recorded by WristNav for that activity, including GPS coordinates, route information, heart rate, steps, elevation, distance, pace and duration.
The transfer occurs only when you choose to upload the activity. Data received by Intervals.icu is subject to Intervals.icu's own privacy policy and terms.
WristNav does not provide direct activity uploading to Strava.
If you want to use a WristNav activity with Strava, you can download the GPX file generated by WristNav and manually upload that file to Strava using Strava's own website or application. WristNav does not send the activity directly to Strava and does not store your Strava credentials or access tokens.
Once you manually upload a GPX file to Strava, the data contained in that file is subject to Strava's own privacy policy. See strava.com/legal/privacy.
WristNav does not sell your personal data. Data may be transferred to third-party services only when you explicitly use the relevant feature:
WristNav does not share health data with advertising networks or use health data for advertising purposes.
WristNav stores recorded activity and GPX data locally on your device. GPX recordings are saved to your device's Downloads folder. Data transferred to Health Connect or Intervals.icu is stored according to the respective service's policies and settings.
You can delete locally stored data by removing the relevant files from your device or uninstalling the app. Data that has already been transferred to a third-party service must be managed or deleted through that service.
WristNav requests the following permissions where required by the features you use:
WristNav uses Firebase Analytics to collect usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. The following data may be collected:
No GPS coordinates, health data, activity data or GPX files are sent to Firebase Analytics. Analytics is not used to collect or analyse health information. Firebase's own privacy policy applies. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
WristNav uses Sentry to automatically collect crash reports. When the app crashes or encounters an error, the following technical data may be sent to Sentry's servers:
No GPS coordinates, heart rate, step count, other health data, activity data or GPX files are intentionally sent to Sentry. Crash reports are used solely to identify and fix bugs. Sentry's own privacy policy applies to data processed by Sentry. See sentry.io/privacy.
Some crashes are not captured automatically by Sentry. As a backup, WristNav includes a button that lets you manually send a crash log to the developer via email. This only happens if you tap the button and choose to send it; it is never sent automatically. The crash log contains technical information about what happened at the time of the crash. WristNav does not intentionally include GPS coordinates, health data, activity data, GPX files, or other personal information in this crash log.
